The Message of the Eve(s)-Part 1 of 2
Sometimes I am not the brightest bulb in the pack. It took me years to realize that Christmas and New Years’ were EXACTLY a week apart (except during a Leap Year- maybe that was the reason for my confusion!) So the Eves’ or, the evening before the big day, work the same way, too. Since this blog will be coming out on each of the two EVE’s, Christmas and New Years’, let’s see how differently we treat these two days, one week apart.
For me and my family, Christmas Eve has been filled with activities and worship at our church. As a musician, I have been involved in dozens of Christmas Eve services in my lifetime. It is a bit tricky to coordinate family, food, music PLUS deal with the excitement over, you know, Christmas!
If there is one overarching word for how I feel about Christmas Eve, it is hope. Hope for the joy of the next day, the fun and the laughter. Hope that my gifts will be just right. Hope for the sake of hope.
In the spirit of HOPE at Christmas, Let me share the gifts of hope I have for you and your journey to and through higher education.
First, I hope these blogs are adding to your higher education savvy. My desire is to help you understand this foreign territory and provide updated guidance. The landscape is literally changing in front of our eyes right now.
Second, I hope these blogs provide fresh insights and reasonable options. The goal is for your student to get their higher education at the best price, in the shortest amount of time. One goal, many paths.
Third, I hope you will share these blogs with friends who can use these insights. They can sign up for free at www.lightwayenterprises.com/blog and their email will be protected, guarded, and never shared.
Finally, I hope you will help me improve this blog. Are there any subjects you need me to tackle? What is confusing you the most right now? What rumors can I chase down? Send an email with your questions and any constructive critique to bburkett@triad.rr.com. I will take your comments and ideas to heart and do what I can!
New Years’ Eve is an entirely different feel and direction. Next week, we’ll take a different tack on the last night of 2020 ( and, good riddance! )
Until next time,
All my best,
Bonnie Burkett
